Tools vs Tooltips

It looks like somewhere early on in Neos a distinction was made between tool and tooltip. Where tooltip is anything you explicitly equip. I think this makes sense as some tools are a little ambiguous. Things that appear ambiguous are:

  • Inspectors
  • Cameras
  • The standard Buttons people use, Clear LogiX etc.
  • The Twitch Dialog

Arguably you could call a lot of things tools. For now, I'm advising that we concentrate on making and filling in the details on each tool as most are stubs. Do be aware that some older pages exist i'm moving them around a little bit as we have duplicates everywhere. If you have questions let me know. Oh and: https://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Help:Talk_pages If you're unsure what the syntax going on here is. ProbablePrime(talk) 11:33, 9 February 2021 (CET)

Ideally I would label anything that was in there as a Editor(Inspector), or a Interface(Twitch/Camera),for stuff like Buttons there are Macros/Workflow Improvement. But I guess still ultimately fall under Toop. I would only stress the Inspector nomenclature wise be stress as an Editor of sorts. (Because that's what it is) The Tool/Tooltip distinction was due to Tool being like on you as a User, and anything you use with said tool to interact with the world are ToolTips. Like your lasers/grabbers/etc are apart of the Tool.Turk (talk) 14:42, 10 February 2021 (CET)

Hmm, that makes some sense. But I'm confused by your terminology. We'll see what happens to the page as this grows for now ProbablePrime (talk) 19:19, 10 February 2021 (CET)
