Neos Usage Guidelines

These guidelines are not an exhaustive list. You can use these links to read our EULA, Terms and Conditions and Privacy Policy.

As follows these are a list of things that are a guideline to follow within the usage of NeosVR, if any of these are in question, or not being followed please contact Moderation or involved parties involved to rectify the situation. For a list of Moderators please look at the Moderation Wiki Page.

The Neos Moderation team also encourages conflict resolution with hosts or users to first talk with others when they’re having a disagreement, but recommends use of the in-game Moderation tools detailed out here.

If the conflict can’t be resolved with these tools or you feel the issue goes beyond scope of what a session host/moderator can do (broken guidelines, harassment, adult/obscene content) please contact moderation.

If you witness or experience any of these guidelines being violated please contact one of us on the discord, or through this support link.(TBD)

Age Limits

• Account Registration or Use if you are under the age of 13 is strictly against the guidelines.
  • Supervised use is permitted with parental consent during play on the parent’s account only.

Hateful Content

• Intolerance, hate speech including language, symbols and actions, discrimination of any kind
• Hateful content includes anything that targets a group and promotes ill-will against them.
• Organizing of hate groups, creating or being involved in a group that is based on or advocates discrimination or harassment.

Harassment

• Acts of harassment or approaching other users with the intent to disturb or upset.

Please do not:

• Set off fireworks in another user’s face after they have requested you to stop
• Message users repeatedly when they ask you to stop, or cease responding
• Aggressively interact or assault users due to your differences/disposition

But you can:

• Respawn users as part of a game mode everyone joined in willingly
• Use/spawn in loud or disruptive gadgets after asking users if you can

• Impersonating other users, groups or Neos Team members with malicious intent outside of clearly recognizable parody and/or comedy
• Distributing personal identifying information such as real names, photographs, phone numbers, addresses of another user without consent is prohibited within the services Solirax provides, including all services within or otherwise a part of Neos.

Illegal Content

• Content obtained through illegal means or acts of stealing, extracting, or "ripping" from storefronts or games is prohibited
• Breaking or disregarding the rules of Individual asset license agreements of products or redistribution clauses that are obtained from other platforms/storefronts such as Unity, Unreal, Booth, and many more.

We ask you to:

• Use assets with CC0 or CC attribution and follow the rules of accreditation contained within them
• Keep questionable assets intended for research with personal projects private, and do not publicly share them
• Use Mediation in these situations, informing the user unaware of their improper asset usage is key. If ignored, please contact the proper parties, eg. Moderation

Obscene Content

• Obscene Content includes media depicting extreme acts of Violence, Fatal Injury, or Gore. Obscene content is not allowed in publicly accessible sessions, livestreams, OR within social media alluding to Neos Brand.

Please do not:

• Post media content of bodily harm or fatal injury in session where the host doesn’t consent
• Showcase acts of grotesque dismemberment, death, or extreme shock value

If you're ever unsure, please contact a mod and we’ll figure something out good for both parties.

Adult Content

• Adult Content such as Pornography, Nudity, Depiction of sexual acts, Fetish Play is not allowed in:
  • Publicly accessible or visible sessions
  • Public media such as livestreams, videos, pictures, etc.
  • Social media posts or comments alluding to Neos Brand

Please do not:

• Use assets related for Adult Content in a public session where it hinders the public experience or minors may be present
• Share fetishes/lifestyles that others may not be comfortable with in a public setting

We want to you know:

• Hosts are responsible for checking that users are 18+ and consenting to such content
• Adult content can only be hosted in Invite or Hidden Sessions where you cannot publicly see what’s going on within the world preview
• For Adult sessions that are accessible through Contacts/Contacts+ it is advised to use a registered headless account, and users who are friended are vetted properly by the operator.

• When sharing Adult Content made in or with Neos, distribute it to sites intended to host Adult content for consumption.
  • Sites that are in the public eye (Twitter, TikTok, Facebook etc) are heavily discouraged, and based on the content, take down requests may be made. It is recommended the more private the better, or places clearly marked for adult content.

• Advertising Adult content is allowed within reason as long as it does not present itself as affiliated with Neos or negatively impact Neos image as a public space.
  • Some examples allowed within the guidelines:
    • If releasing adult content on Patreon, ensure the account is listed for adults only
    • Letting people know that your Discord has new content to consume
    • Using public Twitter posts to redirect to such channels, with comments set to mention only

Please do not:

• Post adult content made in Neos to your Facebook account, or anywhere minors may have access
• Use adult assets within a public session not suitable for a public experience to tell users of your works

Commercial Content

• A Neos Pro License is required if usage is Commercial or Institutional.
  • You do not need a license to make independent content for Youtube, Twitch, TikTok, etc as long as you mention the Neos brand.
  • If unsure please send a request to hello@neosvr.com and we will get back to you.

Game Modification

• Modification and/or reverse engineering of the Neos App is against Neos EULA
• There is an early plugin system if you wish to develop in the Neos Environment in some capacity

Discord Guidelines

Welcome to the Official Neos Discord!

We have a few guidelines to keep in mind when posting:

When writing a post, please make sure the post is relevant to the current channel you’re posting in. This helps users find content relevant to them.There are specific channels for asking for help on technical problems, If it doesn’t belong in the Neos-Lobby or other channels, feel free to post it in the Off-Topic channel.

Adult content is not allowed in this discord server. Please be considerate and keep it clean.

Arguments and personal grievances should be taken into private DMs and not in the public channels of the Neos discord. Please keep it respectful.

Please be respectful of other people and projects, especially when spreading the word about Neos. Many people enjoy spending time on multiple platforms and if we keep things friendly and polite they can enjoy Neos too. We believe it has enough to offer to stand on its own as a unique creative social space, so it's best to focus on the things you can do, rather than on what other platforms can't.
