The Neos Moderation Team's Weekly office hours.

Here are the notes from 19 Mar 2023.

These are rough notes typed by CanadianGit, shamelessly stealing ProbablePrime's formatting. If there are errors please edit away!

Please do remember to check our Roadmaps as a lot of questions here are partially covered there. Do continue to ask them but the roadmaps are there for you to read:

Please make tickets! We love tickets!.

The next Moderation Team Office hours will be back next week!

Sharkmare — Today at 16:01 how many bananas is a standard neos cube in width

  • 5 to 7.

Lexevo — Today at 16:05 How would you handle asking for access to collecting data, when you're using components which don't pop up the host access panel? For example the dynamicsubtitleprovider with a remote url that tracks the user when loaded, or a statictexture2d with the same setup

  • Any visible notification would suffice. The session rule panel in Neos Essentials could be repurposed to provide notification.

Lexevo — Today at 16:13 When you ban a user from the session using the session tab, does it add it to the ban list in the debug menu? Or is that only temporary for the session lifetime?

  • It is temporary for the duration of the session.

Sharkmare — Today at 16:22 Yeah cameras can just take a viwpoint and then do "audio from camera" that + hide cameera is absuable I know the answer but, what should someone do if they have been victim to such a thing mods?

  • Submit a ticket.

Lexevo — Today at 16:27 Would you think it's fine if I have different session rules for different times (like they change when certain people are in the session)? Thinking of doing something like this for my headless.

  • This is perfectly acceptable.

Sharkmare — Today at 16:28 Im planning a "consent" system where you can set specific things you want or dont want people to do on a tablet, along with a free text input field for anything not already present, thoughts?

  • Sounds like a good tool to help users be clear on what their boundaries are.

Electronus — Today at 16:32 If some keeps making false or frivolous reports whats the consequences/actions moderation might take?

  • We will attempt to explain what constitutes a guideline violation to the user submitting reports.

Sharkmare — Today at 16:33 If i file my moderation ticket in morse code will it be read?

  • An attempt will be made.

Draconas Rayne — Today at 16:34 can i make a report in binary?

  • It may limit how much you can write, but the system will accept it.
