The Neos Moderation Team's Weekly office hours.

Here are the notes from 13 Nov 2022.

These are rough notes typed by CanadianGit, shamelessly stealing ProbablePrime's formatting. If there are errors please edit away!

Please do remember to check our Roadmaps as a lot of questions here are partially covered there. Do continue to ask them but the roadmaps are there for you to read:

Please make tickets! We love tickets!.

The next Moderation Team Office hours will be back next week!

Jack — Today at 16:04 Okay let's have a little more broad question. What kind of moderation-specific features would you like to see Neos implement in the future?

  • The current top priority for moderation would be user-blocking features.

Alps Splash — Today at 16:05 Will your moderation extend to the ad space moderation even though it might be very little?

  • As needed. A top candidate for when we may look into ads would be with the addition of the market place. Otherwise, ads hosted by a world would be expected to follow content guidelines such as Adult Content or Hateful Content.

Spex — Today at 16:08 In relation to this, are there distinct policies regarding privacy and data collection that a user might do in relation to advertising?

  • Yes, we have a subsection on data collection in the guidelines currently.

Alps Splash — Today at 16:11 Is there any follow up if ad or non-ad data collection is found?

  • Similar to other violations of guidelines, the user may receive account restrictions.

PeachClover — Today at 16:18 I would like to become a mentor, where do I start and whom do I contact when I’m ready?

dawky — Today at 16:19 I've had a couple people ask me this now, what's the best way to apply for moderation?

  • You cannot at the moment. Moderation applications will be open to the entire community when a need for additional moderators arises.

Alps Splash — Today at 16:20 Will there be positions for mentor trainers?

  • There is no limit on mentor trainers, it's just an additional role mentors can volunteer to do.

Max | Mentor | Moderator — Today at 16:22 Here is my Question, I am a mentor a old mentor, if i want to go thru training for being a trainer do i have to poke a mentor lead, or should i just stay to the ways i was a standard mentor?

  • Reach out to a mentor lead.
