Questions

Aragubas — Today at 16:01 Is nsfw worlds allowed?

  • Worlds containing Adult Content cannot be published, but they can be hosted when compliant with the Adult Content Guidelines - hidden from public view, and where all users consent to the content and are 18 years of age or older.

Aragubas — Today at 16:05 Another question, how to report objects/items?

  • DMCA take down requests and reports of items that violate the guidelines can be made through the ticket system.

haz — Today at 16:08 sorry loaded question,

How do you guys process reports if there is no proof other than just a statement?

Lets say for example someone is spammed by fireworks or their avatar modified without the user's permission. How do mods process these reports that have no video of such events?

does third party statements have any validity or weight when it comes to a processing a report ticket?

  • Testimony is considered evidence, but we will reach out for additional supporting information if nothing else is provided. A request for logs, additional reports, or other forms of evidence will be sent out to tickets with only statements supporting them.

haz — Today at 16:15 a follow up to my other question, when a decision has been made by mods. Are you guys transparent on how that decision came to be to the user that has been reported? like listing actual valid reasoning or do Neos mods not talk about how they processed said ticket?

tl;dr do you guys give a vague statement or actually give proper reasoning?

  • We explain the guidelines broken and what actions broke them in our initial message, albeit briefly. If a user sends an appeal in, we can explain the actions more thoroughly and detail evidence if disclosing it does not de-anonymize the reporting user.

rampa_3 (UTC +1, DST UTC +2) — Today at 16:15 Btw, planning to make moderation hours a podcast too, as is Prime Time?

  • Right now we tend to have a bunch of dead air during the office hours, and little demand for a podcast. If either of these change, we may begin recording and posting it regularly. Until then notes will be available.

haz — Today at 16:17 Can one ask for more detailed reasoning without appealing?

  • Yes, under 'general inquiry'.

Glavin — Today at 16:21 Is there any plans for having protections for assets so that it's easier to use paid assets in worlds without worry of "distribution" of those assets outside of context/world?

  • Yes, object ID is a major planned feature on the Github.

Glavin — Today at 16:23 Will there be an option in the future to use custom shaders? I have a lot of paid assets that are not fully compatible with what's available in Neos.

  • A better question for Geenz when he hosts office hours, but increasing options for shaders is part of dev discussion at this stage.

Glavin — Today at 16:26 Is there plans for having a better user protection system in place that allows people to have more of a VRC experience where the meme items will no longer affect them?

  • Yes, hard permission and user-blocking are planned features on the Github

Drison64 — Today at 16:29 After the current situation is resolved, will Noes try to go out to public or is it going to grow slowly like now?

  • We expect to continue to push growth through new features.
