The Neos Moderation Team's Weekly office hours.

Here are the notes from 25 Sept 2022.

These are rough notes typed by CanadianGit, shamelessly stealing ProbablePrime's formatting. If there are errors please edit away!

Summary

Please do remember to check our Roadmaps as a lot of questions here are partially covered there. Do continue to ask them but the roadmaps are there for you to read:

Please make tickets! We love tickets!.

The next Moderation Team Office hours will be back next week!

Questions

💙🐺Zach The Micro Hybrid🐱💙 — Today at 16:06 Do users get a chance to tell their side of the story if a ticket is made on them before an action is made against that person?

  • If tickets contain enough information to allow moderation to immediately act, we do so. Part of the account restriction message include how and where a user can appeal if they believe something was done in error. However, if the situation is ambiguous, we will sometimes issue reminders on what can break the guidelines. Users are also welcome to submit a ticket for further details or to explain the situation if they receive a reminder.

Rizen — Today at 16:08 Is the moderation relatively relaxed (objectively) compared to something like vrchat

  • I don't have sufficient knowledge of the inner workings of VRChat's moderation to make a meaningful comparison.

xLinka — Today at 16:09 any opinion on using the new forum feature for discord when its rolled out to all servers, to delegate and have specific chats for each office hour types. (probable prime and moderation and geenz or chroma in future)

  • Happy to try it out once it's available, see how well it works for us.

Beagle — Today at 16:10 So, neo's moderation is innocent until proven guilty?

  • We do require a evidence to process a ticket. I always like to note that testimony is considered evidence, but of course if we have nothing else to go on and the reported user provides contradicting testimony it limits what we can do.

Beagle — Today at 16:11 What are these account restrictions? do they vary upon breadth and scale of the offence? (I have no plans to get in trouble, im just curious)
