Questions

Lexevo — Today at 11:12 Question for @Veer | CMO or @CanadianGit, whoever's hosting the office hours today:

I'm wondering if "World Rules" are allowed? Like having set rules that are put in place when publishing a world that anyone can host. And if they break these rules, it's grounds for reporting for harassment, even though they hosted the world?

  • There is no guideline explicitly requiring users follow world rules outlined by the publisher of the world. An example was given of deliberately defeating in-world logix intended for a specific function, such as limiting who can host the world, or run a game. Bypassing this logix does not violate the guidelines per se, though many methods do so could. Bypassing the permissions system to gain builder, then break world systems, could violate guidelines on exploit use for instance.
  • We may explore the idea of user licencing or usage agreements when items are distributed on the workshop/marketplace when those features are closer to development, but we have no current plans to announce, and community consultation will play a large role in how they would be designed.

Jack — Today at 16:12 Actually I do have a question in lights of the recent guideline change. The clause about Neos-external NSFW content was removed, however, there is still the rule that limits the use of the Neos brand in combination with obscene / NSFW content even on other platforms, correct?

  • There is no current guideline barring the posting of adult content to other platforms. We do still limit using Neos to post obscene content in public sessions, including streaming.

Sharkmare — Today at 16:18 Have you considered opening up a form for write in questions?

  • You can submit questions to moderation.neos.com and we will respond in text and lead the next office hours with our answer.
  • Prime edit: You can ask questions a head of time using the following link: Office_Hours#Ask_questions_beforehand

Sharkmare — Today at 16:32 A guideline ping role would be neat cause id love to be notified about those A

  • We're considering new ways to improve how users can see changes to guidelines in the future.
