Questions

moonlion.eth What is the mentor program?

  • The Mentor Program is a group of volunteers predominantly helping out new users when they join Neos. You can find more information on the program here: https://wiki.neos.com/Mentors

Sharkmare Whats the stance on in world user made self "moderation" tools like for example a way to send someone to a timeout corner, seen people talk about that before

  • The tools are allowed, but are subject to the Neos Usage Guidelines on harassment. A tool designed to help manage a world is fine, but it cannot be designed in a way that may harass users or violate other guidelines.

grinchfox What happens to those who violate guidelines? Can host get delisted from platform?

  • Users may receive reminders of the guidelines or account restrictions for violating them. Account restrictions can range widely in length and severity dependent on how the guidelines were violated. The different types can be read on the Moderation Team wiki page.

moonlion.eth What is kfc coin for?

  • It was a test coin intended for catching bugs, it has no purpose now, though some users still pass around the kfc for fun.

Sharkmare If someone has restrictions put against their account, does and if so, how does this affect the headlesses they run

  • MODIFIED FROM SPOKEN RESPONSE: Account restrictions on headless servers are distinct from the owner's account. I.e., if you receive account restrictions stopping you from entering other users' worlds entirely, the headless account would still be able to host its session and others will be able to join - even though the owner could not. Moderation will only issue account restrictions against a headless itself if it is appropriate for the guidelines violated by the controlling user.

FuzzyFoxe Can I report someone for being a good bean?

  • Yes, though we ask users refrain from submitting too many joke tickets, each ticket does send notifications to most of the mod team.

FuzzyFoxe Do you give out cookies or candies to promote us to attend these meetings?

  • We give you the excellent opportunity to yell at us about everything we're doing wrong. We hope this helps.

Earthmark Are there changelogs* of the guidelines?

  • Usually yes. In this instances, the Adult Content guidelines were entirely rewritten and the Game Modification guidelines reduced to a link to the new policy document, so we do not have line-by-line changes - every line was changed.

FuzzyFoxe New guidelines? When did that happen?

  • Today! Though we have been collecting feedback from the community for the last several weeks on them - drafts were released at the previous office hours sessions.
