Questions

Zheko My question with private doesn't mean consent I completely understand about that but if it becomes a bigger problem could suggestive content be not allowed in the future

  • The complete restriction of adult content from the platform is possible, but not in the plans or viewed as likely at this time. We believe we can strike a balance with guidelines and community consultation that will make Neos both an open and comfortable place for all users.

DoubleStyx Is non-explicit fetish-related content allowed in public sessions?

  • Depending on 'content'. A non-sexually explicit object that could be used for fetish or kink related activities is allowed if not used for those purposes - such as ropes, handcuffs, etc.

moonlion.eth Don't session owners have moderation controls? Why global moderation?

  • Hosts currently have session moderation controls, and we hope to expand objects to all users with user blocking in the future.
  • Global moderation - moderators working beyond the framework of individual user and host moderation - is intended for issues that impact the platform and community as a whole.

Earthmark I used to wear a mask in neos that acted as a sensory depravation thing where I had a depth filter so I couldn't see inspectors and had to take breaks. I avoided putting that on in public worlds because it's pup related and so gets towards kink. In that same context, that's not directly sexual in this context, it's headspace control. Would that be considered problematic?

  • As described, you do not appear to be using it for fetish, kink, or sexual purposes, and so it would be within the guidelines.

grinchfox Can fetish elements be used in pardoy manner ? Like for example "Black Overlord meme" sticker?

  • Yes - our guidelines highlight explicit content and sexual behaviour, it does not ban parody of those things.

grinchfox So if content by it self doesn't represent any sexual object, only the actions of a user with it can be considered explicit?

  • Correct - explicit content is restricted, non-explicit is allowed assuming it is not being used in a way that crossed into adult content, including fetish play.

NatBard I've seen a number of young users recently. Is 13 the cuttoff?

  • Users must be 13 years old to play Neos.

Electronus okay so in that case, what about vore where its not a sexual context, and if that would be allowed how do you separate that?

  • If it is not being used for fetish or kink, it could be allowed - the example provided was a Kirby inspired world. This may nominally contain the same actions as the vore fetish, but it would not be used for that purpose, and would be fine within our guidelines.

Earthmark If I made a world that was organics based, and so looked VERY questionable because fleshy bits and anything pole shaped in that kind of context looks like a mating implement. Would that kind of world structure be problematic? In this context I'm thinking designs like H. R. Giger, where it's kinda sexual ish, but is also a horror context where you would really not want to interact with it.

  • It's difficult to assess whether hypothetical designs are past a somewhat subjective definition, but it could run into issues with adult or obscene content guidelines. These would restrict the world to private if found problematic.

grinchfox Is there a chance for explicit worlds to be public in the future, assuming that age verification and filters being implemented?

  • We are considering possible systems in the future that may expand how content is tagged in Neos, including how the userbase verification and filters might work. We have no concrete plans to announce at this time, but will seek community consultation when we near development.

Player Kode In regards to Descriptions and tags, is it possible to make a section within a world to be a second layer of security?

  • We are considering possible systems in the future that may expand how content is tagged in Neos, including how the userbase verification and filters might work. We have no concrete plans to announce at this time, but will seek community consultation when we near development.

FuzzyFoxe In terms of tagging, would others be able to suggest tags for things? I can't imagine many people would properly tag stuff and would use that to get around people's content blacklist

  • We are considering possible systems in the future that may expand how content is tagged in Neos, including how the userbase verification and filters might work. We have no concrete plans to announce at this time, but will seek community consultation when we near development.

Drayce the Void Angel on a more technical note, if i brought in a model of an Avatar which static mesh is 100% safe, but the parts that can be easily deleted, like Bones, Objects, Blendshapes, do have NSFW content or are shaped as such. would the avatar still be safe if these nsfw parts are removed after importing? planing to combine blender project files into one so i dont have to have two projects

  • If the mesh and textures are entirely free of adult content when they enter into publicly visible sessions, you've met our criteria.
